On-Site Supervisor in Training

Lifelong Access is seeking an On-Site Supervisor in Training to
train with and assist the On-Site Supervisors with CILA (Community Integrated Living Arrangement) management responsibilities while also performing the duties of a Direct Support Professional (DSP.) 

Starting Hourly Wage: $20.75 (plus $0.50/hour pay increase once med authorization training is completed)
Job Type: Full-time (40 hours per week)

Primary responsibilities:
  • Perform On-Site Supervisor management responsibilities as assigned by the On-Site Supervisor and/or program Director. 
  • Assist individual supported with personal care, including, but not limited to, bathing, changing, feeding, dressing, and toileting as outlined in the PCP (Person Centered Plan).  
  • Assist each supported individual with household management to maximize their skills, abilities, and independence. This includes, but is not limited to, meal preparation, laundry, cleaning, and budgeting. 
  • Support the individual in the development of friendships, social relationships, and other natural support systems, and encourage community participation.  
  • Foster skill-building and work toward individual supported goals as outlined in the PCP/Implementation Strategy. 
  • Participate in the PCP planning process.
  • Transport supported individuals to appointments, recreational events, emergency room visits and other outings reflected on the calendar. 
  • Dispense medications as instructed, but only If trained and authorized to perform this responsibility.
  • Ensure client safety and maintain a safe environment. 
  • Provide support through CPR/First Aid if necessary. 
  • Complete daily site documentation in a timely manner. 
  • Provide timely reporting to OIG and OIG liaison for situations that may arise per required training. 
  • Complete and maintain all required training such as, basic health and safety, behavioral training, medication administration, CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) and agency assigned training as it pertains to individuals we support. 
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED 
  • Some relevant experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in a work and/or volunteer capacity 
  • Management and/or supervision experience preferred 
  • Demonstrated desire to make a difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities 
  • Attention to detail, especially when adhering to specific protocols and rules while carefully following instructions to care for the needs of the individual supported 
  • Must demonstrate a high level of Integrity to ensure individuals supported to feel safe, comfortable, and treated with dignity when tending to personal activities such as bathing assistance and toileting 
  • Must demonstrate a high level of trustworthiness and reliability 
  • Strong interpersonal skills when working with co-workers and supported individuals, including demonstrating compassion and sensitivity to a supported individual’s emotional needs when they are in extreme distress or pain 
  • CPR/First Aid certification  
  • Must be at least 18 years of age 
  • Valid Illinois driver’s license with safe driving record 
  • Current proof of automobile insurance 

Working Conditions:     
The working environment for this job is a changing one that adjusts to the needs of the individuals supported. The environment may at times be fast paced with interruptions, distractions, and deadlines. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee may be required to work evenings and/or weekends to accommodate the needs of individuals being supported.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk; and sit. The employee will also frequently need to converse with adults – some who might be difficult to understand. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, bend, push, pull, reach, and walk for periods of time. Must occasionally be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and distance vision.
