Lifelong Access is seeking a Major Gifts Officer to support the development and fundraising functions of the organization and focuses on building and maintaining relationships with donors to keep them involved and invested in Lifelong Access’ mission. Primary responsibilities include developing and implementing strategies to enhance donor engagement and retention, and supporting fundraising, stewardship and cultivation events. This position reports to the Chief Communications and Development Officer and regularly interacts with the CEO and other senior management, the Foundation and Agency Board of Directors, and community partners.
Minimum Starting Salary: $65,000 Annually
Job Type: Full-time (40 hours per week)
Primary responsibilities:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will typically work in an office setting, except when assigned to off-site projects, events and/or community engagement activity. Due to the unique functions of events and community engagement responsibilities, evening and weekend hours will occasionally be required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate when in the office setting.

Primary responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance donor engagement and retention.
- Create personalized touchpoints such as thank-you calls, emails, and impact reports.
- Plan and execute donor appreciation events, including virtual and in-person gatherings.
- Manage donor recognition programs to highlight contributions and impact.
- Assist the Development Coordinator with fundraising efforts by engaging donors through personalized outreach to secure sponsorships, auction items and experiences, and other donor-related requests.
- Work with Development and Marketing team to implement end-of-year annual appeal.
- Assist Development and Marketing team with the annual report.
- Develop and implement strategies to upgrade donors to higher giving levels.
- Collaborate with marketing team to craft engaging content for donor newsletters, and email campaigns, and share donor success stories and impact updates.
- Serve as a point of contact for donor inquiries, ensuring timely responses.
- Maintain accurate donor records and engagement history in the Bloomerang (CRM) database.
- Track donor engagement metrics and provide reports to leadership.
- Identify trends and opportunities to enhance donor relationships.
- Work closely with the development and marketing team to align donor engagement efforts.
- Coordinate with Office Manager for volunteer opportunities, including being on-site for volunteer events, post volunteer activity follow-up and stewardship, as well as other donor involvement activities.
- Associate degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum one year experience in identifying and developing donor and/or stakeholders relationships required.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Experience handling sensitive situations and confidential data with integrity and professionalism.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Demonstrated passion for the Lifelong Access mission.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong clerical skills, including good understanding of basic office equipment and etiquette.
- Valid Illinois driver’s license with safe driving record.
